Learning

We hope that every Numberjacks experience will combine entertainment and education. We want young children enjoy early maths, problem solving and thinking skills, get off to a good start at school, and have a cheerful and positive attitude towards maths that will last them all their lives. The learning in Numberjacks covers a wide range of topics, including numbers, counting, shape, measurement, movement, position, pattern and problem solving. Click here to find out more.

Early design

Numberjacks was orignally conceived as a puppet show called Number Chumbers.  Here are some of the original design sketches for that show by Tony Miller.

Through a period of development the Numberjacks took on a new form - as 3D CG animation where the characters went from their base in the sofa into the real world to confront problems caused by the Meanies. Here are some early design sketches for the set inside the sofa.  The designer was Marsh Roddy.

The series was created by a number of animators in the UK and beyond who were managed by Plastic Milk in Hampton, Middlesex. The real world scenes were recorded in HD and the series was edited at Open Mind Productions. PK Studios recorded the voices and completed the sound post production.
